Uninstall Facebook

I am having all kinds of problems with Facebook...

First the latest version is 1.3 and I only have 1.2

And I am not getting any posts.. always get an error....

SO I want to completely uninstall and reinstall but it won't let me...
How can I uninstall Facebook?

What is your Device Model and are you Rooted ?

Original Droid.. I think that is the A855 Not rooted.

Facebook is a system app and this is why you cannot uninstall it - if you were rooted this would be easy stuff - can you not install the newest version from the Market ?

Nope, I cannot install 1.3 it not giving me the option when I look at the APP information it says I am 1.2

So you attempt to install 1.3 from the Market - it downloads and upon installing says "Install Unsuccessful" ?

Won't even download..it thinks its up to date.

Try clearing the market and facebook caches and see if that helps. Even better use your browser to go to the facebook website. Much better than the facebook app.

tried clearing the facebook cache...
I had looked and did not see a market cache...where is that?

Yes but when I go to the facebook app it says 1.2 the market app says 1.3.2

When you go to Manage Applications choose All and Market should be an app in there. Try clearing that cache.

Ok, I'll bite. D1 rooted, how do I delete this app (or any other 'system' app).
