Sd card partitioning in liberty

Just got a new sd card and was wondering if liberty would would benefit from having it partitioned with an ext3 or ext4 and a swap position. If I do position it will liberty need to be re-flashed?

I'm curious as well. I have my SD partitioned, but I don't know if the phone / rom is actually using it.
