I had a beautiful Droid RAZR, and then I lost it.

So now I am back to my OG Droid, and trying my best to make it act like my RAZR...

My main problem is that I am unable to find a way to access the Play Store, and apps therein, namely Raindar... Browsing in the web, or other apps, brings the phone to the Android Market, then it fails, and just shows a black screen.

Is the OG Droid just simply not supported for some of these things I want? Or can I need to unroot it in order to update? Or any other tricks of the trade?

Any help would be appreciated.

(and please dont make fun of me for not safeguarding my precious RAZR)

The phone should be on 2.2.3. If it isn't, then that's the problem.

Well after quite a bit of going in circles on the interwebz - I am still lost.

I rooted this thing back in 2009 or something, and never thought about it again.

Firmware Version: 2.1
Baseband Version: C_01.3E.03P
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-omap1-g1c56172-dirtyadamz@ubuntu #3
Build Number: Bugless Beast 0.9

I don't understand what it is I need to do or get to make this thing modern.. I downloaded some GApps .zips. Couldn't find Steel Droid.. Got files for CyanogenMod.. I did a Nandroid backup - and that is about as far as I've gotten..

Droid noob doesn't quite say enough, does it? Help please? and THANKS =)
