Running low on app space

So I have been getting the message that I am low on app space lately, and decided to troubleshoot it a little further, since I dont have THAT many apps. Ive already cleared all caches, and my phone is reporting that I have 32.3 free out of 261. Well I went into my manage apps list and actually added everything up and it only came up to about 174. what else could be stored in the /data folder? I am looking around there with root explorer but I dont want to remove anything unless I am certain it isnt necessary.
