I read that but I thought if I use my app that rootsmy phone, then use the Titanium Backup and the ROM Manager app I can still do the same thing without all that hassle.

It doesn't work that way for the fascinate. You have to use Odin to apply cwm and the modem file. Once you odin CWMRecovery you can use rom manager to apply roms. Also you will have to use odin if you ever need to return to unrooted stock.

No. when you odin the stock image. It will be like new, except for whatever is on your sd, which can also be formated
