Root troubles after OTA update

I'll start by saying that I DID use Voodoo OTA RootKeeper, and my phone is 100% stock except for the fact that I rooted it with the exploit published a couple days after the Droid 4 was released.

After installing the OTA update to JB, my root seems to have broken. Even after using Voodoo to restore root, it doesn't appear to act rooted. Voodoo SAYS my device is rooted and that it had been granted root permissions, but any new app that tries to get root was denied, without me ever being prompted. The SuperUser app was still installed, and I could see a list of apps that I'd been granted/denied root access to, but a new app wouldn't be listed anywhere. I figured maybe my SuperUser app got messed, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it, which was probably a bad idea. Now, NO app can request root, despite the fact that I still have the "su" binary.

I tried running the Droid Razr Blade Utility in the Complete Jelly Bean thread, but here's the output:

Code:

After its done, apps are still unable to request root permissions.

Any help? Am I going to have to wipe my phone and start from scratch?

That's what I ended up doing...
I went through the same process, ended up with a broken root. TB and Voodoo saw root, but nothing else. I read a thread somewhere that you now need the superuser binary, not the superSU (or was it the other way around???) and the existence of the old one messes it up for the new one - or something to that effect.
Sorry, can't really remember, and didn't look further into it since the fastboot files for JB are out - you find them here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-4-general-discussion/239333-complete-jellybean-thread.html - and I decided to just flash a clean version of JB instead of messing with the system I had.
I then re-rooted with Razor blade and it did work for me on the second try.

I now have a squeaky clean JB rom on the unsafe side and happily running Avatar ROM (based on CM 10.1) on the safe side :victory:

I got it working! I had to set the USB storage method to Media Device (MTP), delete ALL my presets in Smart Actions, then reboot, then run the script to give root.
