Prox sensor died...

So, it appears my prox. sensor is shot. Is there anyway to revive it? Its causing some seriously frustrating issues. Phone calls being the worst. However, if I put the phone is car mode, at least I have some sanity, maybe car mode disables the prox. sensor.

When the phone locks, it takes 6 to 10 seconds for the screen to lite back up and allow me to unlock after I press the power button. Holding, doesn't help. Anyone got any ideas on that?

I've wiped, cleaned, restocked, rewiped, recleaned...same issue. I'm currently running 2.2 with 2.9.2 superclean on my fascinate...
