Not getting Gmail notifications?

Anyone else having this issue? I wont get gmail emails at all it wont even receive them until i refresh the gmail app manually . I looked at everything I have ticked and everything seems right. Nothing on my bar nor sound! Help would be appreciated!

If your not getting mail then notifications aren't the problem. It's receiving mail that's the issue. With no new mail there's nothing to notify you about.

Have you rebooted? Have you removed the account and added it back? Cleared data for the app?
