no sound connecting to hdmi.

I connect my droid razr to hdmi tv. Video shows well but there is no sound. What am I missing?

Is the sound for your device on? And also the TV?? If the sound is off on your device, it won't come through the TV...

I play videos on phone with sound. When i connect and try to play same video on hdmi tv, no sound.

I just thought of something. The video i'm writing of is one i took with razr. I should try a website video to see if there is sound. It may be only the ones i take. Then it's still a problem but narrower scope. I' ll be back.

I found my answer. I had put an HDMI extension cable with female-female connector between my razr phone HDMI cable and the TV's HDMI. I tried using only the phone cable to TV and I got sound with my video. Hope this helps someone else.

PS. That same HDMI extension and connector work fine with my laptop. I always travel with it for my laptop to watch Netflix at hotels.
