No bluetooth response from default music app

Posting this here, since no response on the Droid 4 forum.

I just got my droid 4 from verizon 2 weeks ago. I noticed the music app won't respond to buttons on my motorokr bluetooth headset unless the music app is on top. It sometimes won't pause unless the screen is unlocked. My droid 1 would unpause the music app even if I had never started it since the last boot.

Can anyone tell me how I can get my droid 4 to pause/resume when the app isn't on top? Thanks!
