Here's an interesting bit of off topic news to share with you folks today. A coalition of internet groups (including Demand Progress, Fight for the Future and the Free Press Action Fund) banded together to create a website landing page. It doubles as a tool designed to detect whether your ISP may be slowing down your Internet connection without your consent, and against the new FCC Net Neutrality rules.

Fight for the Future campaign manager Charlie Furman, one of the folks who maintain the site, shared the following perspective, “After repeatedly watching Internet service providers slow down people’s Internet connections we’re not going to just sit back and trust Comcast, Verizon and AT&T to follow the new open Internet rules. The Internet Health Test is our way of sending a message to ISPs everywhere that we’re watching and we won’t let anyone throttle the Internet.”

The website uses MLAB software to perform its serious of tests. We thought it might be of interest to you in order to test your own ISPs potential shady activity. Here's the link to test your Internet connection (you just need to click the link and then click on "Start Test": The Internet Health Test

Or you could just run Speedtest four times....LMAO
This isn't just about you, it's about everyone. Their tool pools and parses the data that everyone gives them, and they can determine who in certain areas is experiencing throttling and connection degradation based on a wide scope of collected data.

So, just like Speedtest then?

When this doesn't give them the results they want, they'll take it down. Or maybe they'll use the lack of results to claim Net Neutrality "rules" are working.
