Need help rooting Xoom. (error: device not found)

Whenever I enter the command to reboot in fastboot, the computer no longer detects the Xoom, so when I enter the next command, it says "error: device not found" and it it only detects my xoom when it isn't on the Motorola logo :/ I can't find any guides that I understand, even though I rooted my Droid 1 before. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
