If you have ever modified your Android device then chance are you have run into the common but dreaded "STEP 1: Make sure that you have the Android SDK installed on your PC". Android SDK is not difficult to install on your PC but can become quite confusing. The main two portions that you will need from the SDK as long as all you are doing is simple modding are the Fastboot and ADB files. If you have these two things you are mostly good to go. With ADB and Fastboot you can do all kinds of things like push and pull files to your device, Unlock your bootloader, flash custom recoveries and root your device.
