Keyboard issues on my droid

Hey guys, for some reason the buttons on my droid keyboard keep sticking out (instead of being flat like they are when you first get the phone) and get very stiff. I never spilled anything on the phone or even dropped it.

I keep it in a hard case. Sometimes I leave it in my pocket, when I am in the gym I leave it in the car (it gets pretty hot in the car sometimes) and when I am at work I just keep it on my desk. What is causing this issue?
