incoming call: only # coming up, not contact name

for some incoming phone calls, my thunderbolt will only show the phone number instead of the contact name, even though they are saved as contacts, and showed up on my old phone. but some show up properly. im not sure if its because some of these contacts have been "linked" to facebook or something, but its definitely inconsistent.

sometimes, i think its when the number comes in as 1234567890 instead of 123-456-7890 but, again, thats not always the case. is there a known fix?

also, i still have some unanswered questions if someone could help:

when i open a file from dropbox using my thunderbolt, and the file is stored on my home pc, am i actually downloading the file to my phone, or just streaming? the thunderbolt doesnt have a file explorer so i cant see, and i dont want to run out of space on the thunderbolt...

and, anyone know how to watch movies with subtitles the way im able to with ripped dvds using VLC Media Player on my pc?
