If Kit Kat is coming out so soon what's Happening with Key Lime Pie?

Not sure if I am getting all my info correct but from what I am seeing it looks as if Kit Kat can be coming out with new wave of 4Q phones. What happened to Key Lime Pie? I am still running JB 4.1.2 on my Note 2 and can't wait for the newer stuff to bring newer life to it. Can any shed some light on this for me? Thanks!
