Google, Amazon & Newegg Price-War Discounts on Nexus 5X & Nexus 6P [Deal Alert]

It looks like now might be the perfect time to grab a new Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P. Google started discounting both of these devices by $50 on the Google Play Store, and this appears to have kicked off a minor price war. Newegg joined in on the fun by offering a $50 instant discount plus a $50 gift card. This basically matched the deal alert we found for these devices on B&H Photo last week.

Amazon apparently wanted to get in on the act and one-upped both Google and Newegg. They are offering the Nexus 5X for $80 off instantly, and the Nexus 6P for $75 off instantly. (Amazon's deal has a few limitations on the Nexus 6P that the other retailers don't; you can only order certain color combinations.) While this is actually less total savings than the Newegg or B&H Photo offers, it could be argued that having the instant discount is more useful under certain circumstances.
