In the coming weeks, several device software enhancements and operating system upgrades are expected to become available for our DROID family of devices. Device software updates

Initial device software updates for both the DROID by Motorola and the DROID Eris by HTC are expected soon. The OTA updates provide several enhancements to improve performance and will be automatically pushed to customer devices when available.

The advanced technology of the DROID means customers will only have to accept the download to their phones for continued use and enjoyment of their Android devices.

Specific information will be available for customers when the updates become available.

Google Maps Navigation on DROID Eris by HTC

If you're anything like us, since the launch of our DROID family of devices you've been asked whether the DROID Eris will have the capability of Google Maps Navigation in the future.
​

In case you missed it, the answer is YES.
​

Here's the official response you can use:

Verizon Wireless plans to offer an operating system upgrade to the DROID Eris by HTC in the first quarter of 2010 that will allow customers to continue to enjoy the powerful HTC Sense experience while also gaining the additional benefits of Google Maps Navigation (Beta)."

Of course it will have google nav in the future, seeing as it is scheduled to be upgraded to 2.0 which supports this feature.
