Wondering why the Eris came without a flash. I really find no use for camera's on phones, but just in case I want to take that one shot every now and then without lugging around my digital camera, what was HTC thinking by leaving the flash off this great phone?

Maybe to keep costs low? Not sure.

Yeah, kinda sucks. I wanted to take a picture one day and the light was so low that it came out really dark. I deleted the photo and most likely won't be using the camera ever again. Disappointed in HTC for not including what most other phones already include.

it is similar to the Verizon ENVY series of phones. the first had one, the second didn't, but the third did.

just manufacturing budgets? I agree on that one.
