Never used a galaxy tab. I have an Acer A500 and I like it a lot, I believe the price is still under $300 on them but they do fluctuate.

I really like my transformer, around that price range. If you're worried about root the early ones can be, but the later ones are still being worked on

A used xoom may be a good tab if you plan on rooting and what not since its nicely unlocked, since the xoom 2 is coming out people might be trying to get rid of theirs for cheap...maybe.

its what I plan on getting if i can get one for a good enough price.
