automatic time-dual sim

I have a rooted cubot gt95 - dual sim - on 4.2.2. I cannot set the automatic time/date function - I have to set/reset time and date manually - what can I do?

Welcome to the Forum. I am not familiar with that phone, but your carrier needs to have the ability to send time and date to your phone.
Did it work prior to root?

Both sims were in other phones before this one and auto time/date worked fine. I rooted phone without sims inserted - I'm thinking that android isn't managing to decide which sim to use so doesn't go with either one. There are no settings options that allows selection of one sim or the other for datetime
When I first set the phone up it had one sim ad was unrooted and auto time/date worked - I rooted it so that I could rename the annoying startup/shutdown tone, I also put in the second sim. If I unroot it will that reset the sounds?
