I thought it was a great feature when Nova added it. Miss it. Doesn't everyone have a clock widget.
Do I need the time twice?

My clock widget doesn't tell me time when I'm reading my email, trying to figure out what I'm looking at from a text someone sent me, etc. I have removed the time before. I edited my APK a long time ago to remove it and the GPS icon that would show up while in use on my Thuderbolt and Bionic.

I don't use widgets at all, but any options are better than no options.

Here's the icons you can hide ..I do at times remove time from status bar ..don't like seeing two of them on my lockscreen...

Well, the answer is no, and I think the reason is obvious.

Yes, there are some OCD people that feel the need to root and edit files and jump through hoops because they *MUST* have a very specific shade of purple for their battery icon...

But most people are not that concerned with the minutia...

I'll worry about this once it's available for Note 5.
