Although the Android 4.4 KitKat update has been available on the Moto X since November, the newer 4.4.2 version has been in limbo, until now. According to reports at least a couple of Verizon customers have mysteriously received the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on their Moto X smartphones. The above pic was posted as proof from a reddit user that they indeed have the newest version of KitKat on their Moto X. There is at least one other report of the same update on a Verizon Moto X device.
No official word has been given of an update rollout, and we haven't had any reports of a soak test either. Perhaps VZW and Moto decided to host a surprise mini-soak test for just a small smattering of folks? Your guess is as good as ours. This makes us wonder if there are other folks out there with the update who may not have realized it. Please check your Moto X and sound off in this thread if you have it!
