youtube "cannot play video" why am I getting this message??

Seems, 9 out of 10 videos I try to play on youtube display the message "cannot play video". Whether it is a direct search from the site, or an external link I click from another. This is more recent, last 3 weeks or so. I thought I was done with this nonsense when I switched from my HTC to Droid2. Can I fix this? So rediculous and frustrating :( thanks in advance

Some videos are not "allowed" to be played on mobile devices(i.e. music videos) There should be a work around for this, but I myself have not found one... would be great is someone has one they could share.

I found something similar to your issue on the HTC Hero (also Android)

Not sure if it helps, but it might.

Maybe try a batterypull, and see if it plays the first clip you find?

Thank you. I powered off and on, and that fixed it, but I am having some sort of conflict, I guess with downloaded programs? That's my guess anyway. I only have maybe 6 apps I downloaded, and 6 games ( just simple puzzle types without a lot of graphics etc ) I will look at the link you sent. Kinda bummed to think that I would have to restart my phone whenever there is a conflict. Seems like more trouble than it's worth.

Sure, you are welcome. Glad it "fixed" it.

Based on the thread I emailed you, it appears to have something to do with the memorycard. One person mentioned that clips worked one day, and the next day when he tried, the same clips did not, and when he switched cards or something like that, it worked again.
When you do a batterypull or when you turn it off and on, the memorycard gets mounted fresh again. When the device sleeps and you wake it up, it might be that the memorycard doesn't get mounted properly, causing complications.

Maybe a long shot, but what if you try it without a memorycard at all? (this would not have mounting issues, because there is nothing to mount)

or,

eject the card and insert it again (which would theoretically result in a proper mount as well)

There has to be an easy way for it to work, but there are issues, so we have to figure out what would be the easiest work-around until (if ever) it will be fixed.
