I was reading another thread in the DroidX section and it somehow turned into computers members were running. So, for fun, post up what you have!

Mine is custom built, because all REAL computers are custom built. Haha.

Hardware:

  • Intel Core i5 655K 3.2GHz @ 3.9GHz
  • Intel DP55WB Motherboard
  • 8GB Crucial DDR3 Memory
  • Intel X25-M 80GB SSD (Operating Systems)
  • 3x Seagate 1TB Hard Drives (Raid 5)
  • ATi Radeon HD 5770
  • Samsung DVD Burner
  • Westinghouse 42" LCD 1080P TV/Monitor
  • 2x Viewsonic 22" Widescreen Monitors
Software:

  • Windows 7 x64 Ultimate (Main OS)
  • Ubuntu 10.0.4 (Dual Boot 2nd OS)
  • MS Office 2010 Professional
  • Adobe CS5 Master Collection

I built my system for overall functionality versus performance. I do a ton of photo editing and have greatly cut back on my gaming. But I also wanted it to be able to handle Starcraft II flawlessly. dancedroid

Macs all around for me.

My primary is a 2008 black MacBook, 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, with 6GB RAM, and a 160GB HD just begging to get swapped out.

Also have a 2009 Mac Mini, 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, and twin 320GB HDs. This one is a media center, with an HDTV as a monitor.

The rest of my stuff is almost prehistoric by today's standards. There's a G4 tower (circa 2001) with a 1.8GHz CPU upgrade, dual-booting Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. It runs all the old games I still like to play. Then there's a "headless" PowerBook G4, performing the same media duties as the Mac Mini, but driving an SDTV in my bedroom. My oldest piece is a 1992 Quadra 950. A whopping 33MHz, and still flawlessly running Macintosh System 7.6, and all the ancient apps and games that go with it.
