Yes and No in my opinion. I think it depends on the climate. I visited White Sands once and all the walkways were Trex (or something similar to it) and the static electricity was horrible. If you touched the handrails and hit one of the steel bolts....lookout!!! May be better in a slightly more humid climate? And yes...I am real!

No, there's no money thus no final question. Trex works well in San Diego, a little warm on bare feet at 100+, and no yearly maintenance required.
