According to the latest rumors from China, Xiaomi is planning to reveal their latest flagship device, the Mi5, in November of this year. The intel revealed that the device will include some of the highest end specs yet seen on a smartphone.

Here's a breakdown:
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
  • 5.5-inch Quad-HD resolution display
  • 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM
  • 16 or 20MP main camera
  • A fingerprint reader with Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint identification system
  • USB-C
  • Just 5.1mm thick
Additionally, the source of this info indicated that the device will have no need of a capacitive sensor or a button present anywhere on the device in order to function. Here's a quote with a few additional details,

The leakster claims that the November date was decided upon because of Qualcomm's SoC roadmap. Initially, Xiaomi looked towards a summer release for the Mi5, but then decided to wait for the American chip maker's next best thing in order to challenge the domestic competition with a specs-intensive smartphone that offers the absolute best in 2015 mobile technology - unless 4K-resolution screens happen, that is. Either way, the Mi5 will go on sale before the end of the year, which is certainly a nice way to send the past 12 months off with a bang. ~ PhoneArena

Here at HQ, we are crossing our fingers that this device is real and actually comes to the US. What do you guys think?

Ready to try something other than Moto. Love the idea of the fingerprint reader, punching in a code each time gets old. Also hoping for removable battery. Too much to ask?
