Yesterday Google finally decided to roll out the Android 5.1 update to the Nexus 4, which is actually a fast aging device. Many OEMs would have end of lifed devices that are this old, but Google has made a commitment to keep the Nexus lineup as up to date as possible. We provided the download link for the OTA yesterday if you wanted to install it manually on your Nexus 4, but there is actually a much easier way. Wugfresh has released his update to the Nexus Root Toolkit which brings support for Android 5.1 on the Nexus 4. You can flash the update right from the toolkit. Once you are finished flashing the update you can go right ahead and root it from the toolkit as well! This is pretty much a one stop shop for all things root on Nexus devices.
