Won't connect to 3g and won't go to the lock screen

Hi, I have a droid 3 and I have had it for a few weeks now andI haven't had any real problems with the phone till recently. The first issue, that just happened today, is my phone will not connect to 3g but will still connect to wifi. It was working fine in the morning and I turned off my phone for school and when I turned it back on again it wouldn't connect to 3g. I tried turning it on and off of airplane mode and also turning the phone off and on, but with no success. Is there a setting that I could have changed somehow? My second issue is that my phone will no longer go to my lock screen after I lock it and unlock it and I've tried putting a password on it and that still didn't work. When I unlock my phone though the lock screen pops up for a second but then just brings me back to what I last had open to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
