I get wireless tether going, my laptop can see my dx. It can also connect to it. But then the laptop can't connect to the internet (it says local only). What am I missing?
I had this problem when I first rooted for wireless tether. Are you running the latest version of Wireless Tether? Not sure how up to date the version in the market is, but after I downloaded the latest version from here: Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code it started working.
May sound dumb but you have to bee root and grant su powers to the app...do other su apps work? Check superuser.apk and make sure the tether has access
Yes, I'm rooted.
Yes, superuser gives access to wireless tether.
every time i start the tether you can see that superuser rights were granted.
I see 1 error in the Show logs spot.
Enabling Access control...
failed
everything else is in "done"
I dont see a way to look into the Access control error. When I connect with my laptop it shows up on my DX and is given access control(or so it shows) and my laptop does connect ...just local only
I've never tried it (I'm happy with Wireless Tether for root since I got it to work), but I've read good things about Barnacle as a tethering app for root users.
