I had a touchpro 2, winmobile, on Verizon for 6 months. I had no idea how much I was struggling to do basic items until I got the Droid. I have had it 24 hours and it is doing everything perfectly. Things I could not get winmobile to do in six months.

Welcome to the Forums.... and Droid! dancedroid

As you become more familiar with your device you will find more and more than it CAN do!

Enjoy the forums!

Welcome! The Android operating system is phenomenal. You should consider rooting to unlock many other features. I suggest you visit the Droid hacks section to learn more. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Feel free to private message me with any questions.

Thanks everyone. I am trying to get the basics down for my job. Ie personal email, company email.

The biggest problem is that I have not figured out the notification thing. I can't easily tell by looking at the phone that I have a missed call, e-mail, voice mail, text message.

I installed "Missed Call" but I am not sure that is doing it, although the program has lots of fans. Everything else is going just fine! I will check out the hacks section, sounds like fun!

Missed Call : blinks blue LED
E-mail : solid green
Voicemail : well the blinking blue LED let's me know a call is missed :)
Text Message : solid blue LED

I don't have missed call installed. Just Handcent SMS. That allowed me to change the notification color to blue LED instead of green (which was my e-mail LED color)

Yeah buddy. I used WinMobile since WINMO 5.0 first came out. Got my Droid about 6 months ago. My impression at the end of day one was WOW!!!

Here's a question:

It appears for the Moto Droid there is no simple way to capture a screen, only works on "rooted" phones. Whatever that means.

I am having difficulty with my email. I have two google email's set up. There is only a folder for one. The only way I can find the other account is when a email comes in, I go to notifications, then I can see it. Otherwise, there is no icon anywhere for this account.

Anyone have a clue what I am saying??? Makes no sense to me, it is hidden. Of course when I go to settings / accounts and sync settings, I can see a total of three accounts. Two are gmail, one is work.

The account that is "hidden" is sycn'd to contacts, gmail, calendar, picasa. I can go to contacts. I can go to calendar. Just can't find an icon for gmail???
