Windows Live Mail and DROID Hot Spot

Hello,

I'm running Windows 8 using Windows Live Mail through my DROID Razr as a hot spot, everything is good except I can't send mail only receive it on my laptop (my send and receive on the phone itself is OK)...any suggestions????

I'm going to guess that your phone is using the data not the WiFi. If that's the case you will probably need to figure out what SMTP port to use. On the laptop it may be different if you are using your connected network's settings. But that's a wild guess.

Windows Live Mail and DROID Hotspot

Hello, Thanks for the advice, I'm using the WIFI Tethering app on the phone which uses the Verizon ssid (verizon droid razr hd 5076) (wpa2 psk), (broadcast ch 8), (client DHCP 192.168.43.2) which automatically sets up. the laptop uses COX incoming (pop.west.cox.net) outgoing (smtp.west.cox.net) and its own port assignments, when using the hotspot everthing on the laptop works i only can't send mail, if i use cox web mail on the laptop it works find sending??? not getting what missing.

Hello, Thanks for the tip, Yes my laptop is using my WIFI (wireless router) which I guess you can consider as a hot spot, maybe I used hot spot as the wrong terminology WIFI is what I'm using the Droid as.

Hello, I resolved my issue, I needed to add outgoing secure connection and outgoing server requires authentication on my Email account settings.
