Will we need to upgrade our Droid to handle future OS?

Not immediately but in a year or two, when we're still under contract and not yet eligable for an upgrade do you think with only 256mb in internal memory we will be able to download and install a 3.0 version of Android and continue using our current Droid?

I prefer to think that by that time there will be new hardware features that one might want in a handset...

That said though, I would say yes, you would; the OS itself doesn't have that big a footprint, and neither do the apps. Typically moving forwards you get more with less, win 7 has the smallest footprint ever, yet will install and run great on systems that are 5 years old. Just my opinion there.

I love my Droid, and think that it will last me until I decide to get something esle hardware wise, app availability and the OS are what drew me to it in the first place.
