Wifi over 3G

What are the advantages/disadvantage of having wifi over 3G at home? What would you do if you had wifi at home use it or not?

Wifi Advantage -- faster
Wifi Disadvantage -- can possibly use more battery but in my experience it doesn't.

Use WIFI exclusively at home, my internet connection is much faster than the 3G speeds. Pretty much leave WIFI on all the time, and connect to whatever is available. Haven't noticed much increase in battery use.

3g drains battery much quicker. plus u can talk and use web like gsm networks can if ur on wifi

I guess I should have said.... under load wifi uses more battery than 3G.

I use WiFi at home alls the time, I leave it on but don't think about it.

Its faster plus you get calls at same time, so if you have Wifi at home there is no reason not to have it turned on in your DX. Plus there is an option although I can't find it but I know I seen it that, after 15 minutes of inactivity it will shut the WiFi off

3G sucks at home, so I use wifi for data and a Verizon Network extender for voice.

Use whatever has more bandwidth. use the speed test app to test. I use wifi at home and work becuase I get 4-6mbps vs 3g's 1-3mbps.

My 2 cents... I use megavideo a lot and using over 3g I can hit airplane mode quick and reset ip to bypass megavideos time limit Otherwise wifi is the way to go
