Wi-fi HotSpot

So I'm thinking of rooting my phone (again) so that I can use a wi-fi hub app.

I've got a few questions before I do anything. If I use on of the apps I don't have to pay a monthly fee like if I use the one that's pre-installed correct? I use the wi-fi a lot and might go over so I don't want to pay any overages.

And second what's the best wi-fi app to use?

here's a patch for the 3g mobile hotspot app i found it on xda Team Black Hat made it so credit is their's not mine but here ya go!

Both Barnacle and android-wifi-tether are reportedly the apps to use for wifi tethering. I have had better luck with the android wifi app. It's free.

I have been having some issues with both programs under Vista/Windows 7 but not XP that I will post in a new thread.

closing this thread. To the op the only discussions of tethering we are allowed to discuss are the wifi tethering and barnacle app. No posting allowed of the wifi hack thank you.
