Why skip activation?

Might be something to do with the market downloading your apps, and using TI to restore your apps. For me its easier to just restore apps from TI than to go through market and then restore the apps data.

I was thinking that could be it but I didn't know if VZW tracks how many times your device is activated or something. Might look odd if they do and see my phone was activated like 15 times in the last 3 months

Well if vz does keep track of how many times your phone is activated, it would be good for when you need to return your phone. A factory reset is what a lot of tech support people try and walk you through before they offer the replacement and you need to reactivate after a reset. If the tech support could just look and see how many times your phone has been activated might save some call time. Also I bet google keeps track, and makes me wonder about their android activations per day numbers. I think I remember see a number around 15,000 per day! Made me think, dang is their really 15,000 people getting new android phones every day? Then what about the other os phones? Would end up being somewhere around 40,000 people getting a new cell phone every day! Google the numbers once and then add them up, seems kinda high don't you think?

yeah totally. ok.....so how do you skip activation? It's like touch all 4 corners clockwise or something right? Starting with a specific corner

On the D1, you start at the top left and go clockwise.

Hmm.....I am going to have to give this a go after I flash either her phone or mine next. This would have been helpful last week when I flashed PE onto her D1.

Thank you CJM

I've skipped the activation step before to see whats exactly in a rom. If the rom thread didnt answer all my questions or didnt feel like picking it apart with 7zip.

That totally makes sense. I like your style man....

why don't we have a "like" button or rep points or "thanks" button? So we could give some thanks to those that assist....you know give a little credit and let others see the helpful one's based off their points.

Or is it due to those that would just rep rape people?

Yeah, or even a stupid button. Then I would have scored one with a post I just posted without reading the op. Its was such a bomb, I quoted myself and used the ol :stupid: icon.Made me feel real special lol
