Why does Droid come on when plugged into the charger?

I thought that the Android 2.0.1 update was going to fix this? At least that's what it said on the VZW report...

If you look at the bottom of page 2 of Motorola Droid OTA Update Coming December 11th? | Android Phone Fans it mentions that it turns on, but no mention of a correction.

It says in the user manual that your phone is always on when charging. As we programmers like to say: it is not a bug - it's a feature.

Actually, in this case it probably is a design feature. When in the dock (and charging) where it acts like a clock, and in the vehicle dock where it acts as a SatNav, well... you wouldn't actually WANT it to go to sleep. So it was probably designed to be that way.
