who has traveled overseas w/ this phone

I might be going to brazil this summer for 2 weeks. Is it worth it to use this phone over there? Is Verizon going to charge me an arm & leg?
I would like some input from you guys & girls who has traveled w/ this phone - pros & cons before I call Verizon & they try & sell me something outrageous.

the phone is a global phone so you might just have to call verizon and ask them to unlock it so you can use it for the 2 weeks in brazil. Get a pay as you go sim card when youre there. should work no problem over CDMA or GSM while there

Maxx HD already has an unlocked modem. Pop in a pre paid sim and switch the network type and you're all set.

+1 All 4G phones are unlocked out of the box. I just had this discussion with a Verizon tech rep last week.

Alternatively you can also pay VZW $25 for one month of "Global Roaming" which gives you calls at just a few cents a minute and 1GB of data or something like that.
This is what we do when my bosses go out of the country.

Hey,

i do travel a lot and in this case I use my roaming sim card, which i bought from the travelsim.com about 2 years ago and since i use it in every trip.
Low prices and easy to use.
