Which Bootstrap to use if...

Which Bootstrap should I use if I want to flash a .zip file onto my main system? Not necessarily a ROM, but just a .zip file in general, like the 1% battery mod. I tried using Rick#2's modded Safestrap, but it wouldn't back up my system for some reason, so I installed Hash's 1.08. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think that any Safestrap will not flash to the non-safe system, so, if you want to, you need to use Clockwork Recovery with Koush's bootstrap. So, I believe that you'd need to toggle back to non-safe, restart and uninstall Safestrap, then install Clockwork in order to flash zip files to stock.

The Recovery can be found here, in the first post: [Recovery] Droid 3 ClockWorkMod Recovery - xda-developers

Then, if you want Safestrap back, reverse the process; uninstall Koush's bootstrap, install Safestrap (they both cannot be installed at the same time).

Yeah, I don't have any ROMs installed as of now, so I'm still in non-safe. I thought about switching bootstraps (safestraps) whenever I wanted to do something like that. I just didn't know what the current CMW was. I'm kinda hesitant about trying the non-safe/safe switching, and I know it's not hard, but if I'm going to flash a ROM, I want it to be permanent. I guess I'm stuck in the ways of the OG Droid. :P Thanks for your reply, doogald.
