Where to look for logs after a spontaneous reboot?

Can someone point me to the correct place to look for informative log info to find the possible source of spontaneous reboots? I am on CM 5.0.7.1 with the 7slot 1.2GHz kernel from BeBit.

Is there an app needed to view the logs (or that makes it easier to find them)?
