Where are all the super fun emotions?

This is my first smartphone, woo hoo, go me. What I cannot stand about this is the fact that there are no fun and exciting graphics or smilies like my old phone (voyager). Am I mistaken when I say I cant find any or are they just hiding somewhere? I saw in the swype board there is a smiley button on the right. I held that and a bunch of green guys came up but it sent like a regular face...no fun. Let me know so I stop going out of my mind trying to find some.

Insert a "-" between the ":" and ")" and it'll show as an android. So a would be

yes, you would think, but no unfortunately it still shows up like symbols. I clicked more and then insert and there is no insert smiley button either. Its all symbols!

Those only show up in Google Talk and Texting, and they only appear on your phone.
