What you favorite rom for our beloved G-Nex?

Codename android is my fav so far. I've used gummy, tranquil, axi0m, and stock rooted. Codename is where its at right now but I can't wait to see some other ones with some heavy customizing. Even tho ics is legit, its fun to have the custom options.

LOL...if you think codename or gummy has customization you have obviously not tried AOKP....makes the first 2 mentioned look like manufacturer skins....or bare stock.

Either way I absolutely refuse to flash anything made by Peter Alphanso....or whatever his name is. REFUSE. I flashed his ROM's on my OG Droid (when it was new) and found that he absolutely ignores any requests for support.

Lost me that very moment from ever even considering a BB ROM again

Rooted my phone on the weekend and put codename android on it. Had a few weird restarts and battery was draining pretty fast.
Tried AOKP and WOW...Heaps of options and superfast. Flashed the leankernal as well. Will see how the battery goes today but if you havent tried AOKP might be worth a look. Boot animation is killing me though ;-)

Peter Alfonso is looked up to by some of the most reputable developers in the community. Being a full time student as well as "scraping by" while he finishes may have something to do with him not responding to many support issues. He is a busy man to say the least. You needn't exile a developer for not responding to your sole inquiries, its not as if he or others are getting paid now are they :-) I'm not blasting your opinion, as it is your right to have one, but don't blast on a dev for not enough support. Simply utilize another developer's ROM.

Good results, but it seems to be in trend with everything else. When the phone isn't being used, 20+ hours is achievable.

What governor you using and what slots? I'm guessing conservative?

Well I know that I would get to about 4-5pm and my battery was at about 30% on stock. Now I get the results posted. I have not used my phone any more/less since moving to AOKP. I can confidently walk out the door with my battery sitting on 60% and know I will be ok. Obviously using less will get you better stats but try keep your stock nexus sitting there doing nothing for 30 hours and see if it lasts. I doubt it would get close.

My config is nothing fancy
  • AOKP ROM
  • LeanKernel
  • SetCPU is as follows
    • Min350Mhz to Max1.35Ggz
    • I have the profile "screen off" min350Mhz to Max350Mhz. So that when screen is off it wastes very little battery.
    • Voltages are conservative 1350/1200 - 1200/1100 - 920/1000 - 700/900 - 350/800
  • All accounts set to No Sync. No syncing of contacts/calendar/gmail nothing. I use touchdown exchange so all is done within there
  • Set touchdown exchange to 15min polls
  • Screen Auto
  • Background data off
I promised myself I would go 6 months without flashing a ROM on this.. I lasted 3 weeks BUT I really am glad i did. Phone is really going good and its FAST

Thx! But do u think I should just wait for an official release?

Its up to you mate BUT I know how you feel. I had a bad taste left in my mouth from when I had my droidX. I would flash a ROM and would be great for 4 weeks, then an update would come out and I would have to flash it because werid **** was happening. random reboots etc. I used to use Gummy/Liberty which by the time they finished was solid but I mean I was there from day one and went though about 5-6 versions. When I decided to flash this thing I said I am going to do this right the first time. Purchased Titanium backup and flashed codename android. Used it for a couple days but was killing my battery "no offense to devs". Read quite a few people saying they used AOKP with LeanKernel or Franco kernal. Flashed it and using titanium made the whole process pretty painless. So even when the new release comes out and I have to restore defaults I just restore everything with titanium and we are back in business.
