So I have been looking for a RSS reader that will allow me to add filters to a particular feed so that I can filter out only the topics that I want. I am really interested to try FeedR, but I don't want to pay for it when I get a perfectly good feed reader in PureRSS. Does anyone know if FeedR, or another reader allows for filtering the feeds? Note, I'm not looking to search. I only want certain topics to show up in a given feed.
What I have done, for those who may be curious about this as well, is used the free online service at Filter RSS feeds with Feed Rinse. Basically you create a free account, give them the URL to the feed you want to "rinse" and then you can set a plethora of filters on the feed. You will then be given a new feed URL that you can point your reader to. It works like magic, but I'd rather remove this extra step if I could. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
