What is backed up to Gmail and how can I check

Having just gone through a full reset I was interested to read that some people are saying ALL apps etc. are backed up to gmail and that when they restored everything game back. This did not happen for me (I think the store did not have me set to backup properly) but I can't find any info on it.

Anyone know ? Does connecting to your google account restore apps etc after a reset

FYI the reset has really improved the phone so it's something I might like to do on a regular basis providing they make restoring easy to do.

I wondered that also. Does google and these other backup programs restore all the crap. Also is the restore auto so I have no choice.

If you connect it to the previous Gmail account yes...

Technically, yes, it will reinstall automatically. It will NOT automatically launch and run the app by itself; therefore, you can go in and delete the app before it launches and messes up your phone again.
