It's a compressed file, zipped up so it's smaller. From a Windows computer, right click the file and you should see the Send To...Compressed File option.
I thought Zip files were really fast files, they were originally called Zippy Files, but the name was kinda changed...

LOL, sorry, I needed to say that...
I use WinRAR on the PC, makes Zip or RAR files, and UnRAR Pro on the Note... Makes opening and making ZIP/RAR files...
I don't think I have ever zipped or unzipped a file in any phone I have owned. But use it almost daily on my work laptop, since our team is spread out over 3 different states. Always sending files and folders back & forth.
You might have to find a file explorer app in the Play Store that supports zip functionality. One that lets you create a folder, place multiple documents inside the folder, and then zip it and send it. I personally do not know of any that do this, but other folks here might have app recommendations.
Yes. They want one folder, with all files inside it, zipped and then sent to them. That way they don't have to deal with multiple files and attachments.
