What do these Motoblur services actually do?

I have had this phone forever now and still can't figure out what the photodownloader or the backup assistant is doing. There is also a bunch of services running where I have no idea where the data is being uploaded.

Most likely widgets. All a result of moto's replacements for aosp stuff like gallery. Backup assistant simply has the tendency to restart for no reason though, as does skype in running services. They don't drain battery at least. Everything else, other than google messaging service (for texting, google voice, and gmail) can be stopped in running services.
