What apps are sweet right now? I want the forums opinion...

Wow i have tried half of apps post..there great....especially "restart connection" dont have to do no ap mode and wait on bionic...keep up the good suggestion folks!

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using DroidForums

Wow - never heard of any of these except Google Docs and speaktoit.

Swipepad I tried out - very cool concept but overall I felt I didn't really need it. I put my most used widgets right where I can access them. The big advantage is running apps when in other apps but I still didn't see the need.

Minimalistic Text, Elixer, and Widgetsoid all great Widget programs.

SwipePad - almost eliminates need for scrolling through multiple home screens

Minimalistic Text - Made me leave beautiful widgets

Elixir

Widgetsoid

Google Docs -Slick...use it all the time for work

Pulse is good also - I've been using it for a while. It may not have all the same feeds though. Try it out and let me know.

Well, I tried Pulse last night, and it's good, but I think I like Taptu better. I like that Pulse uses the notification bar when news comes in, but with Taptu I can build and merge my own news streams, which is fits my needs better since I follow a lot of blogs and like to have them all in one feed. Taptu also just has the one column that goes down as far as you let it (up to 1000), while Pulse limits you to 12 before making you build another page. I can see how Pulse would be great, and even better, for some folks who don't follow too many different streams and want that notification so that they don't have to go digging through all the feeds themselves, but Taptu, I think, would be better for someone who follows a lot of different feeds and wants to mix/match and combine them.

Great list and thanks for the descriptions.

I use many of the ones you listed. BeWeather Pro is worth it.

I got Taptu off your list - thanks. Now I have WAY more news to read everyday!

What games are your best? I'm addicted to Coin Dozer and Drag Racing.

Yeah, I love BeWeather. I just upgraded to the pro version and it's awesome. There was a flashflood warning in my hometown yesterday and I got updated notifications on it, so that was pretty cool. I tried out Beautiful Widgets, and while they are beautiful, BeWeather is more for me since it lets me keep track of multiple locations at a time. The widgets are pretty slick as well. And I'm glad you like Taptu. I heard about it from a website and tried it out; now I'm addicted!!

As far as games go, I don't have too many intensive stuff; I'm more the casual/card playing type. I have yet to find a good card game, though, so I could use some recommendations with that. Some of the games I have on my phone that show up beautifully are:

Battle Bears: Zombies! - 3D shooter with bears
Circus City - Very casual game where you build and maintain a circus (the graphics are awesome on the Bionic screen)
CardShark - All sorts of solitaire card games, including my favorite, Spider solitaire
Farm Frenzy - A time-management casual game, much like diner dash
Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave - 3D RPG tower defense game (I love tower defense games)
Gem Miner: Dig Deeper - A lot like Gold Rush, if you're familiar with it, but Gold Rush in the market place shows up all wonky on the Bionic screen, so I have this one instead
Musaic Box - A hidden object mystery game, and it has some mini games in it as well
Pocket God - I seriously don't know the point of this game other than you mess with a bunch of natives on a tiny island, but it kills time
Robo Defense - Another tower defense game; I've had this one forever and on all my phones

Arcade by Kongregate is a neat little time waster. Some decent games, but it's missing the heft and selection of its companion site.

BHive Google Tasks | Todo is a surprise underdog to-do list app. I switched to this from using Astrid, mainly for one reason: BHive has the most flexible reminder system I've ever seen. For instance, I can specify to be reminded of a task at 2:50pm every fifth Tuesday of the year. Or, at 11:45pm every 47 days. Or, at 6:51am on the 14th day of the month, every 7 months. I like having options.

If you're into geeky high-stakes dungeon crawling games, Dweller is the only Android game I've ever been excited about.

Fooducate has been useful. You scan product barcodes to find easy-to-understand breakdowns of the ingredients, and recommends other similar items if what you're looking at is "unhealthy".

Stretch Exercises. WAIT WAIT don't ignore me! I know you saw the word "exercise" and decided to skip over this. Get it, because you most likely fall into the "97%" slice in a pie chart of "People Who Need More Exercise". Stretching feels good. This app has detailed descriptions and pictures. Do it.

Based off this thread, I've downloaded Restart Connection and Stretch Exercises. Both are extremely helpful and something I don't think I would've found on my own, so thanks!! And keep up with the suggestions!!

A book app that I had with my OG Droid and have on my Bionic is Aldiko. It works with ePub, which the Nook uses and the Kindle doesn't. It has a search feature if you want to get books, either free or paid. I use the program Calibre on my computer to convert other formats (including html) to ePub.

If you're using the stock phone, there's an app called On Call End, which lets you decide what you want the phone to do when the call, well, ends. You can have to go to Home or Dialer or nothing and select them for both incoming and outgoing calls. When I was using the dialer app TAKEphONE, it didn't work, nor could I find one that did. TAKEphONE only went to the call log after a call.

By the way try Boat Browser over Dolphin - it's amazing.

And if you post a list please everyone take the time for descriptions!

Thank you!!! I hadn't heard of Boat Browser (have been using xScope since my OG Droid). Been playing with it for the last two days and love it.

I just downloaded Boat as well, and you're right; it's much better than Dolphin. Thanks!!!

Anyone else have any good apps they'd like to share?? dancedroid

I am a devout Bionic stock browser user. I used Opera on my D1 after going through all the usual suspects.

Is Boat Browser faster than stock? Stable?

I'll have to do a little research. Thanks for the heads-up.

Well, I started using Dolphin instead of the stock because it was more intuitive and customizable and it just looked better. I used to use Opera, but the interface was always a little too clunky for me. I only downloaded Boat tonight so I can't attest to its stability just yet, but in imo it's better than Dolphin. Dolphin is good if you like gestures for your shortcuts, and it has a lot of little tricks and tweaks you can customize. Boat is more simpler. It's as sleek as Dolphin, but a little easier to use. It's worth trying out.

Oh, and Boat seems to load faster than stock, Opera, and Dolphin over 4G :)
