Went to Verizon free class on Droid

Verizon (here in Raleigh, NC) offered a class on beginner operation of the Droid. It was about 2 hours long. In the first hour, they described the general operation of the Droid phone. There were about 50 of us there. For the second half they broke us up into groups by the kind of phone we owned. The Verizon people helped us one-on-one with questions. It was free and very helpful.

if you need the class, a droid is too much phone for you.

as a verizon rep who does the classes, inevitably there is going to be, the one "know-it-all" who thinks that they know more than you. Heck, they might, but the only purpose of them coming to the class is to disrupt.

There is a certain amount of fun that could be had going to a class like that....

"how do you root"
"is tethering ok"
"how do I hook my PS3 up to my phone's 3g"
"my bugless theme is acting up, which Rom is best"

Sat through a 4hr training when the D1 was getting ready to launch. Learned MUCH more here than there! :dancedroid:

DroidForums junkie!!

Is that really all they teach you? That like the beginners course in the droid forums community. I didn't know what they taught you there or tried to teach you but looks like the forums have come out on top again

Give them a break.. All the advertising means that these phones are in the hands of tons of non-nerds. Just like the 99% of mac users who don't know how use the command prompt, they just want to use it, not master it.

Classes on Droids (Incredible)

Where can i look for classes about my Droid Incredible. I am over 60, never had a smartphone before and need directions. Learning new tech information is not intuitive for me.

I think it is a little crass to say that anyone needing a class probably should not have the phone in the first place. Personally I think its a great idea! At least people are offering knowledge rather than bottling it up and not sharing. That's why you get the same questions asked over and over again. Props to a company that is willing to take the time and show you what to do.

I am really getting annoyed by the high percentage of posts on Droid forums by people and their perceived sense of superiority. Just because someone asks questions, is inquisitive or doesn't know as much as the majority of members here doesn't make them inferior or unintelligent by any means. I am starting to get the impression that this may be a members only club for those who possess a degree in arrogance with a minor in b.s.
