weird Facebook update...?

So randomly this update shows up in my task bar for Facebook and it won't go away... I tried restarting my phone, deleting Facebook, and anything else I could think of! But it will not go away... how do I make it go away?!

Check out "can't clear notifications" that was posted 6 minutes before your post. Sounds like the exact same problem. It's in forum tech issues, bug reports & suggestions.

Mine did this yesterday. I have no idea why. I got rid of it by opening download folder and deleted it.

Facebook is bypassing the Google Play Store and pushing the update directly.

Mine wouldn't download. The blue line just kept moving across. Did it all day long and my battery didn't last long because of it.

You can force stop it by holding on the download progress until the pop up window appears 'App info'. Once you choose the App info, force stop it.

It will try again to push through unless it is disabled.

I read somewhere, I think on DROID Life that your phone must be connected to wifi to download the update. I'm rarely ever on wifi. Now I'm waiting for it to come back and I'll try to dl it on wifi.

If you set your phone to only update while on WiFi, it will give you this issue when you are not connected. i noticed that the screen showed "tap to connect to Wifi"

Do you mean the wifi settings in the play store or elsewhere?

On your phone, turn on Wifi and it will finish updating.

What an incredibly stupid thing for Facebook to do.

I already deleted the download now it won't come back. I wonder how I would go about trying to download it?
