Weird data connectivity

I just got a droid 2 global from an Asurion claim on my OG Droid. Awesome.

However,

Data is acting a tad... unpredictable. Sometimes messages in Trillian can be 1-2min late, same for emails, Android IRC is frequently timing out about every 5-10min and having to reconnect. I don't see data as disconnecting as far as I can tell. It seems to only do this when the screen is off. I have set the power mode to Performance and saw no change.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Well, since I'm not a regular here, and I don't like the whole “try dancing around the phone beating on a shamanic drum”, I'd say checking the logs to see what happens would be the best bet.

But alas I'm not at all sure that you have the Android SDK installed and/or know how to use logcat.

Try *228 2 and see if that helps....had that problem with mine and reconfigurong towers seemed to help. Otherwise, check the rom version. Update to 2.4.330 if you don't have that, although you should.
